Faith Harbor Pilots: A ministry for men, by men, for the good of all.
Our Mission:
The Faith Harbor Pilots are a group of dedicated men following the call that GOD has given us by providing every man at Faith Harbor UMC and the surrounding area a credible offer of salvation by the blood of CHRIST. From that point on we will lead them toward becoming strong disciples of Jesus Christ.
Just as a Harbor Pilot leads ships safely into a harbor, our aim as Faith Harbor Pilots is to lead men into claiming that Jesus Christ is not only their Lord and Savior, but the Lord of their lives. We will navigate and explore potentially life-altering opportunities through our ministry that will be a moral compass in the hearts, minds and souls of all men to turn them toward Christ and away from the sins of the flesh. We will strive to anchor men in their faith to strengthen each other through our fellowship together.
The Faith Harbor Pilots will take full advantage of the variety of opportunities in the life of the Church, such as ministries and missions, Bible studies, Sunday School classes and seek out other areas of service.
Please join us as we look forward to having another great year of service. This is an open invitation to all men who desire to become disciples of Christ.
We provide numerous opportunities for fellowship and joyful service in the life of the Church.
Tuesday Morning Breakfast Club: Come as you can, if you can. Unless otherwise stated, the men will meet at Sear’s Landing restaurant every Tuesday around 8:00 AM for fellowship. Breakfast orders are taken around 8:30 AM followed by a devotion. Join us if you wish to start your day in an uplifting and inspirational way. Third Sunday Dinner at Share the Table: Every other month beginning in February, the Pilots, along with other church members, plan, prepare, cook and serve a meal to the clients at Share the Table. The menu changes each time but includes a main course, a side dish, bread and dessert. We currently serve between 200 and 250 meals each month, but that number continues to grow.
College Bowl Food Raiser: Coincides with March Madness. During the month of March, food collection bins, designating your favorite college team, will be place in the church. Vote for your favorite team by placing non-perishable food items in the appropriate collection bin. The “votes” will be tallied and published weekly with the winner being announced at the end of the competition. But the real winners are the clients at Share the Table.
Summer Fun Fest Series: During the months of June, July & August, one or more men will plan and host a different monthly activity, such as, weekly pier fishing trips, Low Country shrimp boil, backyard BBQ or a tailgate style picnic. Come and enjoy good food, fun, and fellowship!
November Family Night Dinner: The first Wednesday in November, each year, the Pilots host a fund-raising dinner consisting of a traditional Brunswick Stew prepared from scratch and served with homemade cornbread. The stew can be ordered in advance for take-out and sold by the quart.
Coastal Carolina Emmaus Community: The Pilots support this Christian organization and encourage our men to take the Walk to Emmaus, a spiritual retreat to foster spiritual growth, renew faith, strengthen Christian leadership, and encourage disciples to actively live out their faith in everyday life.
